When she was 16, the Filipina teen flew to South Korea to compete in the SBS survival show Universe Ticket, where 82 contestants from around the world competed for a spot in the eight-member girl group, UNIS. Contestants were ranked from P to M based on performance and votes, with P being the highest.

Starting in 22nd place, Gehlee initially received a low ranking but made a strong comeback with a group performance of “Nan” by CLON, earning an “S” rank and eventually rising to the top. Gehlee managed to become one of the members of the K-pop girl group UNIS.
